Franklinia alatamaha

A native that we have in Glenmoore, My parent’s had a very large tree in Berwyn and a neighbor of ours in Bryn Mawr also had as a mature tree.  You can see specimens of it at the front of the Barnes Arboretum in Merion. This is a young tree, blooming for the first     time this year. We planted it about three years ago on a southern hillside: Thrilled!

And beautiful fall color too!!

LEARN TO LABOR AND TO WAIT

H.W. Longfellow

The Weeders is a community that offers the opportunity to participate in horticultural, artistic, environmental, and civic endeavors.  By serving on committees, entering flower shows, and attending a variety of programs and workshops, every  Weeder can develop new skills and become better informed,

enriching her own life as well as the lives of others.
