Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald Houses nationwide provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment in area hospitals. Families from all over the world are able to stay together inexpensively and comfortably during a life crisis.
Philadelphia’s was the first Ronald McDonald House. Many organizations contribute to the house by cooking meals, answering phones, registering guests, and providing transportation. Each year a committee from The Weeders decorates several areas of the house with seasonal floral arrangements, which do a great deal to beautify the rooms and lift the spirits of families under stress.

LEARN TO LABOR AND TO WAIT

H.W. Longfellow

The Weeders is a community that offers the opportunity to participate in horticultural, artistic, environmental, and civic endeavors.  By serving on committees, entering flower shows, and attending a variety of programs and workshops, every  Weeder can develop new skills and become better informed,

enriching her own life as well as the lives of others.
